The weather won't be clear enough to even contemplate it until 5 or 6 o'clock, and at that point they can't suddenly announce to everyone to get down to South Philly, there's gona be a ballgame tonight. Bud Selig said last night the fans "deserve as much notice as possible." Play WEDNESDAY, and tell FOX to go fuck itself. FOX bought its tickets, it knew what it was getting into.

In his presser last night Maddon made a point of saying he's going with Balfour to start. I think he did so to bait Charlie into sending up/burning Dobbs because Maddon will immediately go to Price. If you PH Jenkins, Maddon may stick with Balfour because it's a crappy matchup for the Phils. Balfour throws high heat, but Jenkins is a low ball hitter.

Scoring in the bottom of the 6th would be huge for the Phils, so I think you have to get the best matchups possible (under the circumstances) and force Maddon's hand. So I'd send up Dobbs, let Maddon go to Price and then PH Bruntlett (who homered off Price in Game 2). Bruntlett/Rollins/Werth is probably the best matchup for the Phils.

I realize it may mean you have no defensive replacement for Burrell other than So, but I think it's really important to try to grab the lead back in the bottom of the 6th and then finish the deal with some combination of Madson, Romero and Lidge.

Agreed. I don't want to burn Dobbs in the 6th. He's the better pinch hitter.

this all depends on my friend- once they make the announcement of game time I'll call him and find out within an hour or two. It's very unlikely that he'll be able to make the Wednesday game.
