Yeah, it really doesn't resonate. "I'm taking the high road" is just not very effective when said explicitly, and I don't necessarily like a person more when s/he says it. It's more difficult, but more genuine, to address the criticism head on while maintaining dignity, and bringing the conversation back to a high level. "This is an issue, a conversation, that can easily divide people. My opponent would love to talk about X, but it's a distraction from... blah blah blah." Obama is very adept at this. Hillary Clinton is not.

i get you, but anything that brings a little civility and dignity to all this bs that has been spewed about our system of democracy is a welcome thing, imo. it's not a lot of money.

At this point he can will all of OH, FL, NC, and AZ and not win the election (and he's not winning all of those states). He can win all four of them AND flip ME or NH and it'd still be possible he loses (or a deadlock)

Looking at the map and possible scenarios, I assuming Trump has 163 EC votes. He'd have to run off the following states to get to 270:

Georgia
South Carolina
Alaska
Iowa
North Carolina
Florida
Ohio
Wisconsin
Nevada

That seems highly unlikely...AND...that assumes he wins all the states in the 163 above. Arizona is damn close.

I’m A Sexual Assault Victim Who Still Supports Trump
the opening paragraph:
This week America was subjected to a tape of Barack Obama flashing his erection to women on a plane. With a proud smile, he spread his legs, so the ladies could see the solid outline of his penis beneath his khakis.

As you can see the liberals have been using this coverup for some time now.

Over the weekend, Mrs. Vulture called both Lil' Vulture and me "Trump" when we did something that annoyed her.

i've felt torn about dems donating to the NCGOP thing, too. Definitely agree with JU's argument, and i personally won't donate. but i think it's bad to yell at other libs/dems who do donate (what youseff said)

also, i refuse to click on any THEFEDERALIST link (i hate sean davis so much) but is that one written by that mollie hemingway lady? her stuff is awful

With the Hillary/Johnson turnout at the polls I'm looking forward to like half the country being able to smoke weed legally. Even if California legalizes it for rec use I would figure that the fed/dea would have to do something either way

Would have sworn he meant since drumpf is freaking high, HRC shouldn't say she ALSO is "taking the high road"

but your overwrought analysis is also entertaining

First step is lowering its schedule. Let's hope. 60+% of the country is now for it.

From the perspective of a member of Congress, there's no incentive to do the heavy lifting to actually move a bill forward. At this point, I can't imagine a Republican speaker even letting it go forward. It's not surprising that in the main, legalization has been the result of referendum, not legislatures passing bills that are subsequently signed into law. Alas, there is no national mechanism to move something like this forward.

By the way, there's a similar but even more power dynamic at play with term limits.

I agree with this - but how many fed laws are allowed to be ignored by individual states. The DEA just can't let a large percentage of the US population flout the law can they? Talk about 2 americas.
