But let's assume it's all legit. No state limits anyone's right to vote, and no machines are rigged and all the votes are counted properly and fairly, or to where the margin of error for human f'ups is neglible to outcome.
Tell me where we are as a nation in 4 years with either of these two?
-- Trump is a wild-card and we will see god knows what - with policies, cabinet, and I'm not sure he's really got the commitment to really work the job. He likes to make sound bytes and meme fodder. All those angry white guys out there in the heartland and south - aren't going to be any better off in 4 years.
-- Shillary is Wall Street and Hawkish policies and business-as-usual. The Congress will remain obstructionist, and she won't be able to get much done. Because she will curry favor for the .01% the Monsanto/Bayer merger and it's like will continue unabated. Fracking will continue. TarSands, Dakota Piplines, TPP will find its way back, and endless war will continue on.
With both, Executive Order abuse, massive surveillance and secrecy agencies will go unfettered, and we will be using more drones than ever. Prisons will remain crowded. Health care will get more expensive and less good jobs with benefits and no reversals on patriot act or citizen's united. If Trump gets in, I guess Roe v Wade could even topple. Not sure the fall-out there?
The argument of most moderate Dems, and Hillary fans - is that "don't be a fool a vote for Jill Stein or any 3rd party" it's the Nader effect, a useless protest vote that will accomplish nothing except to let Trump a totally corrupt money guy - who has constructed an identity to get the Rush Limbaugh crowd to vote for him - and he could spark a true proto-facism, or he could just be a big mess or it could backfire and light some movement post-Bern from Millenials and old liberals and the remaining union and labor and academics -- but I don't see that coming about.
I think Trump would have a hard time winning two terms back-to-back even if he wins legit, of course if its rigged, who knows. I'm not sure who's bidding he's doing? But I'm sure they can shape and mold him as needed.
The American populace is so naive to think that "Presidents" operate with any autonomy.
It's really and truly a sad state of affairs when these are the only 2 choices we have.
The planet is growing warmer by the day. We've tipped. By 2050 but surely by 2100 sea levels will be up 7-8-9 feet, and the methane and carbon release. It's going to soon be about resources, clean air, clean water, non-toxic food, medicine, and martial law may be coming when it finally becomes impossible to feep up the facade of "nation state". There are more guns than people. It's a fragile thread that keeps us from not becoming a fractured land.
The big money knows that their profits go down if things go renegade. So we keep up the illusion of "the trains running on time" so that people will keep going to shop at the mall and buy stuff and accrue debt.
But I just can't see better nation in 4 years with either of these two. it's truly depressing.
both parties are run by plutocrats but Hillary's party (Shillary nickname makes you see like an enormous moron fwiw) platform is a lot friendlier to the middle and lower class. you're one of those privileged voters that can survive while the lower classes suffer. they are the ones that will be more adversely affected by a GOP style tax code that would further service to funnel more money to corporations and the upper class. she's also the only candidate proposing any sort of increased oversight on our financial institutions.
you spend a paragraph whining about the environment unironically seemingly with no idea that one candidate believes climate change is real and at least has a plan to address it, while the other thinks it's a conspiracy started by the Chinese.
she's anti-Citizens United, the Trump Foundation donates to them.
reading you're intermittent stoner posts in the politics thread leads me to believe you're a fairly low information voter.

this thread goes on and on over minutiae and play by play of the mainstream updates to the political noize....
In short, Hilary doesn't improve the nation or the world. It just perpetuates more of what is wrong now.
Wake the f up.
