It's about stimulating turnout in the reliably Dem areas, not winning a particular region.

My favorite detail is his strong lead with 18-34 year olds in the poll

The trend is still unsettling

What Snowden Gets Wrong

preview: a lot

homework for any fellow liberals that do not believe Snowden could get clemency: bring this up at a gathering of fellow liberals. try to sway one person. when you fail, drink.

It's gotten to the point that we can stop calling USC/LA Times a "poll" and start referring to it as a "survey," because there's nothing scientific or representative about it.

I cannot stress this enough.

Snowden is the worst traitor we've had since the Rosenberg's.

He will never be pardoned. If he ever comes back to the States, he will be arrested the moment he steps off the plane. He will get maximum sentences for his crimes.

i didnt learn until just recently that he actually stole the test in order to get access to the NSA.

then, there's this:
But there are gaps in this tale. First, look at a globe of the Earth: If you want to fly from Hong Kong to Central America, there are far more efficient routes than going through Moscow. Second, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange told the Guardian in 2015 that he’d urged Snowden to go no farther than Russia, where he could best be protected from CIA agents. (It is interesting, in this regard, that Snowden’s flight was arranged by WikiLeaks and that he was accompanied on the plane by WikiLeaks editor Sarah Harrison.) Third, the suspension of his U.S. passport is irrelevant; if the Russians wanted Snowden to leave, they could have issued him a temporary visa, allowing him access to a plane out of the country—and customs officers in Havana could have granted him an entry visa upon his arrival. Fourth, Snowden stayed on in Hong Kong for 12 days after leaving his hotel. Not long after his arrival in Moscow, the Russian newspaper Kommersant, quoting unnamed foreign ministry officials, reported that Snowden had spent three of those days in Russia’s Hong Kong consulate.

i've known for some time he was exploited by Assange, but it looks like Russia obviously took advantage of his panicked state, too.

edit: and yes, i agree with LG (obviously he knows more than I). indiscriminate leaking does not garner you whistleblower status. there isn't a part where the good outweighs the bad that they factor into your charges on a crime of this scale.

General, it feels like you're in a pretty good position to assess this rationally.

And the rest of us aren't, for many reasons, but at least one of which is that we seem to conduct our wars.... more in secret nowadays, without even the ritual of Congressional oversight, than we used to. Also that a component of this newfangled warfare seems to involve having authorized snoopers up in our underwear drawers.

The Donald called it and hired Christie to be the guy that fills a Trump administration full of staffers and cabinet members:
