Probably not in the end but consider Trump doesn't do well with women, naming Carly may gain him some votes from GOP women. This isn't a bonehead move, far from it

I think politically it is shrewd.

I just don't like her and don't want her to be VP.

Carly Fiorina could not even win a reasonable % of the women vote for herself.

Do you think it hurts him? I don't understand your argument. Like, it is unlikely to propel Ted Cruz to win every remaining primary, sure. But at the margins I think it helps. This is like the Kasich in Indiana argument with drsmooth. It doesn't fix everything, but it is more likely to succeed than doing nothing.

This isn't about winning anymore

It's about taking every delegate away from Trump as possible

He has to work every edge, every fringe and any advantage he possibly can to do that.
This helps, it doesn't hurt, and it remains to be seen if everything he tries stops Trump from getting 1237 but doing the same old thing almost definitely won't work

I think tapping a candidate that hasl ties to the Jeb Bush donors of the world would have been infinitely more helpful. More $$$ would allow Ted Cruz to actually do some damage in some of the most expensive media markets in the world on June 7. Maybe that was not a realistic possibility, I don't know. Those donors may have written off the presidency and focused on the Senate regardless.

Then again, they'd probably just light their money on fire and run the same ad about Trump supporting Obamacare that hasn't been working for the past 6 months.

To be kind Ted's endorsements has been mostly "reluctant"
I doubt a Bush like candidate would agree to be his vp

Carly should help with ISIS. She's shown the ability to destroy large organizations.

Not sure if there has been a more unlikable ticket than Cruz/Fiorina

In fact doing nothing probably would be better, but even better than that would be more drumpf foreign policy speeches.

More drumpf foreign policy speeches should result in whereever he lives being stormed by a rainbow coalition of people from every segment of the political spectrum to ridicule him unmercifully until he dissolves in a puddle of his own urine.

It is difficult to express how infantile, how thoroughly ignorant this dimwit is. He has absolutely no understanding of how organizations process activity. None. He could not run a lemonade stand.

Yeah but at least trump is entertaining. Not sure why trump would pick Christie anyway.

No!!!!!!

No, he's not "entertaining"!!!!!!

Boorish, braying stupidity is not "entertaining" in someone who purports to be a candidate for the presidency of the United States. At all. So stop with that!!!!

It's like all the news dimwits calling his emissions "strong". He is NOT STRONG. He is AN.ASS.HOLE. That is ALL that he is. A pathetic, deplorable, asshole.

No parent would tolerate the man's behavior in any child of theirs over 10 years old.

This may be better suited for the Statistics thread, but there isn't one so it's going here.

I took a gander at the tally sheet hanging up at the firehouse (I guess they have to post them at all polling places?). It was eerie how close the two voting machines were. I mean like 130 votes on each machine, and Hillary/Bernie was one vote difference between the machines. I think it was 60-49 on one and 61-49 on the other. Almost the same thing on the R ticket, with Trump getting identical counts on both machines and Kasich at #2 was I think 2 votes different on the other.

I guess extrapolating this further is one reason that media outlets start calling races with less than 1% in. How long must those tallies stay posted? Once that period expires I may snag the sheets from the firehouse for more detailed analysis.

If you believe anything he says about the money he's "made", you believe lots of other foolish things. He's managed not to squander all he inherited; that's not the same thing as being a good businessman. Doesn't anyone ever wonder why someone like Carl Icahn, who's supposedly tight with the moron, isn't trumpeting drumpf's towering business acumen from the rooftops every day? Or why Romney so casually essentially called him a business nincompoop?

drumpf is a profoundly ignorant, uninformed, and intellectually vacant individual. This should be plain to anyone here.

Did your dad share who he voted for?

My parents are really anti-Trump thankfully. I was afraid my dad would go toward Trump after Rubio dropped out, but he really hates him - "that fucking clown" is invariably used. Cruz is basically the epitome of everything he hates about the party (the apple didn't fall far from the tree), but he's talked himself into him pretty impressively.

I have a cousin who has gotten into TRUMP Facebook stuff, and one of my uncles has been very loud about Trump. No one I interact with in person on a somewhat regular basis is pro-Trump, which is fairly absurd for a number of reasons but is good I guess.

Trump always taks about how he will be five million votes ahead of Cruz, ect. once the primaries are done, but I thought I heard a stat tonight that even as of now, Hillary Clinton has two million more votes than Trump.

I know it's apple and oranges and Trump was going against 16 others at the beginning, but certainly Bernie Sanders took many votes away from Hillary.

But, it gives me hope that Hillary will still get much more votes than Trump in the general, including the required electoral votes.
