Actually one thing that both surprises me and makes me a bit heartened is there continues not to be an avalanche of endorsements for Trump. He's likely to be the nominee, and even though there are a ton of idiots elected in my party, there has been such little backing for him it's pretty remarkable.

How dare Hillary be passionate about women's rights?

So I guess it's only a matter of time until Cruz appoints his cabinet.

the central manifestation of her passion for women's rights has been her advocacy of micro-loan programs which failed across the board and only served to increase the reach of American banking institutions into third world countries. she's been in step with her husband to dismantle welfare and send thousands of drug offenders to long jail stints, crippling low-income families. she's in favor of globalization strategies that depress wages and liquidate American jobs, moves which always disproportiately effect women. her foundation accepts donations from countries where women are hardly considered human. I guess she's passionate about women like she's passionate about Libyans

That's certainly a depressing take. I don't agree with the idea behind it, but we're not going to sway each other here. I cna see your strain of thought though.

If you strip the context of the 90s lots of stuff can be looked at in that manner. That's perfectly fine. In the context of 2016, after I years of what I view as a fairly liberal president, she is set up to be a very good president.

only one of the things I mentioned happened in the 90s and it forms the basis of her reputation

I guess she's set up to be a good president if you think the status quo is just fine regarding the economy and foreign policy. I think that's a weird opinion

The problem is voters can only vote for who's running and right now she's the best candidate in my opinion. I'm not voting for any of the Republicans, and although I'd vote for Bernie, I don't think he'd be an effective President, at least not in the way he wants and thinks.

I love Bernie Sanders but I truly believe he's more valuable in the Senate with Elizabeth Warren so they can continue to push the liberal agenda or at least give true liberals a voice.

If you don't want to vote for Hillary, you have that right. You can vote for Donald Trump.

Actual change is hard. You need to actually create a groundswell of longterm support. I think Obama was largely abandoned by the people that elected him in 2008, and not by his own doing. He did what he ran on. Clinton is running on an equality of opportunity platform. If you want to hold her to it then make sure to keep pushing her and vote and call, etc

Sanders is status quo on foreign affairs.

As much as I despise Trump, I really do get a visceral reaction when I see Cruz speak. I just want to punch his smug face

The only way a VP choice would have made sense today was if it was the governor of Indiana.

Well changing the current story from Donald destroyed Ted in the NE and Donakd gives foreign policy speech to Ted names woman VP running mate is helpful

I do not see any reason why it will be helpful winning Indiana. Carly Fiorina is not going to get Kasich voters to jump ship and if undecideds have decided in larger numbers that Trump is acceptable this is already over.

But stopping the cycle of the news going on about Trump instead of him is helpful for Indiana

In addition to the value in changing the subject she's won a competitive primary in California, which is the most important place left, in the not so distance past

Are we really pretending this will be in the news for more than a couple hours before Trump wipes the slate clean
