He had a piece this week in The Federalist that I liked about being OK with losing friends over his opposition to Trump. He's also written other stuff about why Hillary is preferable to Trump. I'm on board with all of that, I fear.

Yeah, this guy is fucked if he ever has to leave politics and go to the private sector. He'll never make any money.

Yeah, he did a great job. He's made less with his inheritance than if he put it in the S&P.

and he's a classic case of a rich guy cheating the system in a way that he would hate if it was a poor black guy doing it, using public funding and tax loopholes for something that doesn't benefit the public in any real way.

The kicker is that the poor black guy would actually benefit, like survival wise.

Waiting patiently to hear how the inheritance tax is bad again from Republicans...

Not to mention making lots of money by making sure he got his while shafting small businesses by declaring bankruptcy not once, not twice, but 4 times.

Some of those are so benign

I would imagine you could put Obama and Clinton there and it would be just as much of a guess.

When specifically asked his opinions on Ted Cruz, Boehner made a face, drawing laughter from the crowd.

"Lucifer in the flesh," the former speaker said. "I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life."

Ted Cruz directly made Boehner's life miserable from the time he arrived in Washington until Boehner quit. He's about the only person in the GOP I'm willing to give a pass to for preferring Trump to Cruz.

A more telling comparison among the article's original figures would be of their shared eccentric & viscerally repulsive hand gestures.

JH, it seems that the talk of running a mainstream conservative on a third party ticket has died down. Off the table due to the practical difficulties of beginning that campaign in May or is it just not getting media play?

not Harry Reid?

so even though Ted worked in the senate, they had that much interaction or was it his obstructionism that affected the house the reason why?

I may be mistaken but as an example of practical difficulties, a 3rd party candidate would have about 2 weeks to get on ballots in Texas.

recall reading that either Trump or a "conservative" alternative could get his name on the Constitutional party ballot in most states

Jesus, listening to Cruz just now. Screw it, let drumpf get the R nomination - both candidates are simultaneously ridiculous and depressing. Neither are entertaining.
