I've been in eastern PA for 20+ years and have never been to the beach at the Jersey shore, nor the Delaware or Maryland shores. Until spending a week at the Outer Banks a couple years ago my total exposure to the Atlantic ocean was a few minutes in Maine as a teenager on vacation with my family, and an hour or so at Virginia Beach.

Growing up in Oregon, I was about 50 miles from the coast (not the "shore") and went frequently, but that's very different from the eastern shores. Average midsummer highs are low-to-mid-60s, with a lot of wind, and the water is far too cold for swimming.

Has anyone done Escape the Room anywhere? Did one today. It was a blast. Pretty expensive but it's cool to be inside a puzzle. We got out in 45 minutes. Fastest time anyone has had on the room we were in.

Just no interest in taking the family there? It's not all sand/ocean. There's plenty of stuff to do on the boardwalks and in the shore town itself
