Yeah, me neither. I'm not sure who would have done a better job with this. Cops on a manhunt for a cop killer is probably not a good strategy though.

Since the statement was "let the cabin burn" rather than "maintain a safe distance", I assumed the second proposition was being agreed to.

Right, I'm saying I misunderstood your comment, although the original comment is sort of like a second amendment thing-you can focus on the "holding the fire department back" part or "let the cabin burn in case he's inside." I assumed the tweeters were implying they were not putting the fire out so the guy would hopefully burn to death. But maybe I was wrong about that , too.

Maybe I was hearing things (which is entirely possible), but I /think/ the police spokesperson lady said law enforcement didn't fire/throw smoke canisters into the cabin and that they suspect Dorner himself may have set off his own smoke canisters to provide cover for an escape. If so... "woops!"
