I remember my friends and I went to a restaurant in University City that night to celebrate the end of the semester, and as we were eating dinner, a constant stream of fire trucks raced down Walnut Street.

You shoot at cops you should expect to die, for certain. I don't doubt or question that. But I'm pretty certain there's no police protocol that involves burning someone to death. It's more shitty cowboyism from LAPD.

Tear gas then armored officers? Just riffing here. I never went to any sort of formalized training for this. Pretty certain preventing fire trucks from putting out a fire is not normal though.

nothing about this is normal, really. they let the firemen go in there, they're sitting ducks for him

what armed standoff is normal? lawlessness shouldn't be an excuse for lawlessness on the part of authorities.

still don't know what law they're breaking. he's not tied up in the building, and they didn't want firemen killed since he's shooting at everythign that comes near. i'm sure they wanted a much easier way to end it considering tons of people think they're shits anyway, so it's likely this isn't them being cowboys and proving a point.
