Mitt Romney went to the races today, and instead of putting his pedal to the metal, seems to have put his foot in his mouth.
Asked by a reporter from the Associated Press about whether or not he follows NASCAR, Romney reportedly responded "Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans," he said, continuing, "But I have some friends who are NASCAR team owners."

Does he really think people hate him for being successful? Lots of rich politicians out there, Mitt. We hate you because you said you enjoyed firing people, because you used to work at a job where you dismantled companies and put people out of work, because your tax and other policies all favor the very rich over the middle class, because you made it sound like the 300k+ you got in appearance fees last year was just petty cash and not real money, etc, etc.
Christ, the guy just doesn't get it. It's like McCain not understanding that most people don't have 10 houses and believing that the average worker make over 100k. The plutarchs haven't forgotten what it's like to be poor or struggling because they never have been poor or struggling. They are rich from cradle to grave. And then they whine about class warfare, as if they aren't the ones waging the war.
