And besides Mary Sue, I can't think of one either. Judy Jagdmann was appointed AG by the General Assembly after Jerry Kilgore resigned to run for Governor, but that doesn't count. In fact, I think Wilder (Lieutenant Gov then Gov) and Terry (AG twice) are the only non-white-males ever elected to statewide office in Virginia history.

It will be interesting to see if the contraceptive flap gives Romney a boost. It does seem as the Santorum bump in the polls is beginning to level off, but according the RCP polling chart, he's higher now (at about 39%) than any Republican has been at any point in the cycle.

Of course, there's no way you can attribute any movement one way or the other to contraception, but it just seems to me like a loser for Santorum, certainly in the general, and probably in the primaries as well.

Love that Friess has specified the aspirin brand in more than one interview about his one-liner. The Bayer people must be loving it - tho they DO make an actual contraceptive product, that's larger than an aspirin tablet
