Politics: The Arse of the Unpossible

I'm beginning to think that if Obama is out with the next election, so will much of the GOP be out also.

The adult in the room angle was good and won hearts and minds until the execution came around regarding the debt crisis. Obviously anyone with a brain sees that nothing was really done and political blood will be let. A good friend of mine, who is a deep democrat supporter, declared Obama's administration Carter-esq. If my memory and math hold, he could not have been older than 5 at the end of that administration (whereas I voted in a mock election).

Economic commentators freely throwing out that the US Government is dysfunctional is disheartening, not due to lack of respect, but because the truth hurts. Nothing is going to get better when the primary goal is the desecration of the other party. Hello, Government services, begging a servant attitude and demanding that the work is for the good of the people.

So I think that Obama is certainly at risk, but I also thing that they are all in the same boat. I can hardly think of a politician that does not make me want to throw up.

Pawlenty's campaign has been really disappointing so far. But his ad production budget is awesome.

Fortified with this illuminating recitation of all that President Pawlenty will do for my country, I am prepared to cast my vote for any other individual, living or dead, but him.

Man, if I'm someone who gave him dough to promote him for prez, I'd be pissed that he appears not to have any plan to spend it for that purpose.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Since the affected are mostly succeptible to the misinterpretation of point #4, it becomes sort of a horrible self-fulfilling prophecy. Solve that and Sir Nobel pays a visit.

I think you're right. Unless the Reps fight out their primary season by seeing who can move farthest to the right, I think we see a Rep President and a Dem House in 2013.

is there anything remotely resembling a "rep president" on the scene currently? You can't seriously suggest that mopes like Perry, Romney, or Pawlenty, are credible candidates?

The only reason I think Obama even has a chance at this point is that he is one of the best campaigners ever.

There are elections that have little to do with the individual candidates and almost everything to do with dissatisfaction with the state of the economy and upset with the government. Unless a lot changes in a hurry, this is shaping up as a 'throw all the bums out' election.

Baucus, Kerry and Murray are the Senate Dems three picks for the fancy debt committee. I don't think I'd be thrilled if I was a liberal to see Max Baucus anywhere near this thing.

Yes, the political circumstances do not bold well for him at this point. If it was someone less charismatic than Obama I would put good money on the Republicans winning.

Polls closed in Wisconsin. One of those weird elections where no one has any idea what's going to happen.

MSNBC is broadcasting The Ed Show live from Madison, and it's a Dem pep rally. Big crowd cheering when Dems are said to be ahead, booing when Republicans are declared winners. Interviewing half the Dem state senate caucus. Even Sean Hannity thinks this is embarrassing.

Dems are going to win between 1-3 seats, and they need all three that are still in the balance to take the state senate back.

Counts they were flashing at 10:30 ET were looking good for the Koch Party. Er, the Republican Party

2 Dem pick ups. Democrat leading in the third race, but Waukesha, that county that swung the Supreme Court race for the GOP, still out there for in that race. Wasserman from Cook Political Report thinks the GOP will hold on barely, but straight extrapolation has the Democrats taking the senate back.

Hopefully this dumb county clerk has her act together this time and gets the votes in soon.
