jerz - o'donnell tonight simultaneously made it much more likely that I will vote for your boy christie for president, and made a compelling case that he will now, never, obtain the nomination of his party for that office

all re: mohammed in passaic county

odonnell, without a speck of irony, declared that christie's speech in defense earned The Last Word's FIRST standing ovation

and I am in complete agreement with that decision
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

He's a fantastic advocate when he's on your side. The complete lack of filter/willingness to call people stupid/crazy is fantastic.

And he's really at his best there.

As a white conservative asshole from the northeast, Romney-Christie would be a pretty awesome ticket.

I mean, for balance/electoral sake I could think of a few better choices (Rubio, McDonnell, Martinez) but I'd thoroughly enjoy a Christie Biden debate.

it's entirely different. Many Americans think less of fat people, and I doubt a large segment of the voting public thinks morbid obesity is "Presidential". Being black doesn't make you sweat uncontrollably and look like crap in a suit during a nationally broadcast debate. People care about these things, they really do. I don't give a shit about appearance of elected officials either way, but I don't think it's something to gloss over. Just saying I'd be stunned to see a fat man in office.

The recent health scare won't help his cause in my opinion.

I think you're wrong about that for a number of reasons and might write a 1000 word essay about it tomorrow. Gonna go to bed now though.

In an unrelated story, I had a moment yesterday when shit was falling apart when I realized 20 years from now Obama might be remembered almost like Carter, and it made me embarrassingly happy. Enough shame to know that it's rude to take pleasure out of people struggling from a shitty economy just because it makes it less likely Obama will be reelected, but not enough shame not to take pleasure from people struggling from a shitty economy because it makes it less likely Obama will be reelected. I'm a bad person. Also I'm going to look dumb when this is quoted when Obama wins 350 electoral votes.

seems like it would take a whoooooooooooole lotta persuading to coax Christie into the 2nd-banana slot. Hard to picture him not having the same visceral disdain for Bob Forehead's Cousin that practically everyone else does, and an even greater distaste for losing alongside him

Yeah, if Christie says he won't run for President, why on Earth would he quit his governorship of NJ to run for Vice-President?

I am still of the opinion that Romney can't win. Christie running as the top of the ticket could definitely win, however.
