35K for a wedding? Holy fuck, that seals it, never getting married.

Cousin calls to see if I want to pick him up an hour north of here at 8:30 to get to the parking lot before 9 to tailgate tomorrow.

I'm driving and I don't actually care about the outcome of the game, so I'm not having more than a beer or two. Let alone drinking at 9 AM tomorrow. Getting you to the game early to get drunk before lunch seems like the opposite of the sort of thing that would get me out of bed before 8 on a Saturday.

Jeez. I'm pretty into drinking, but six hours (assuming he thought the game was at 3?) of tailgating is just beyond the pale.

The game I'm going to is Notre Dame vs. Navy at new Giants stadium. Starts at noon. I care about the outcome of the Phillies game very much, and would probably drink right up to the legal limit if I was driving there and lucky enough to have a ticket.

Driving from the Meadowlands to Queens after the game, and either listening to the first few innings in the car or getting there plenty early enough to be feeling good by first pitch if the Rangers hold on.

It's true. He has a BMW convertible. So I have to drive because my car has 5 seats.

Actually, it was less than $15k, because that's how much I inheirited from my grandfather, and used for the down payment on our first house, and I remember thinking I did better spending it on the house than the wedding.

I think people liked that. I haven't really talked to anyone who was there since that night.

I have friends who are making the wedding list right now. I kinda hope I'm not on it because I can't afford 150 bucks right now with no job. Maybe I could offer my singing talents as their gift. See how that goes over.

My friend had no job when we got married, but you have a year from the date of the wedding to do the gift. We actually used his present to pay for our anniversary dinner
