I tend to think that as long as there's like, five bars, I could hang out at them once in a while, take walks, mostly just muck about on the internet and watch lots of tv and I would be fine. Am I being delusional?

I don't know Eugene very well, but I grew up in a town about 40 miles away and visited there a decent amount.
I would imagine it's very livable without a car. Lots of people in the Willamette Valley corridor in Oregon (more or less from Eugene north to Portland) commute via bike (I personally never got a drivers license until I was 21, and rode my bike to school and wherever else I needed to go before then), and the cities are very bike-friendly.
I have no idea how the local economy is, or what the cost of living is like.

We confronted him at the door and he decided to bolt, so we're fighting with him in the vestibule and all the way into the security office. When the cops show up, and after lying about his name and occupation, they finally find out he's a fire fighter. The cops, uh, convince, our managers to just let him walk. Cop says "You wouldn't want this guy's career ruined for something like this would you?". I imagine he'd have also have a problem ruining his career if he were an engineer or a cook or whatever? Here's an idea if you don't want your career ruined for stealing stuff: Don't steal stuff. I mean, we would let people go if it wasn't much and if it wasn't worth the time and effort, but this guy had like 8 games at $50 a pop AND got violent. Crooked cops.
