Sorry to hear that Woody.

I found out yesterday that my mom's boss was the pilot in that plane crash near NYC. It's crazy.

Can anyone tell me why Hebrew National only puts 7 hot dogs in a pack (without making a Jewish joke)?

Damn Wood, that's terrible. My condolences. How old are your cousins? Are they old enough to take care of themselves or are they going to have to live with other relatives? Also was there anything anybody could do that was there when it happened- CPR wise- that could have saved him? I think my wife and I are going to take basic classes. You never know...

Literally the moment I arrived home from the viewing, I got a message from my Mom that my uncle died last night of a heart attack. Didn't even make it to the hospital. So now my cousins, who already lost their mother to lung cancer 4 years ago, have no parents. What a terrible $#@! weekend.

Oh fuck, I'm so sorry, Wood. My condolences to your family.

I need a new tie rack and this time I'm going manual.

I like the Twirl-a-Tie but it only holds twenty ties.

Word. Do it.

Woody sorry to hear about that. I guess half the shock of that is knowing the impact it will have on your folks - it's always a horrible thing when family dies suddenly like that.

My cousins are both in their mid to late 20's, so they'll be fine in that sense. But losing both of your parents tragically before they even hit 60 is really rough

I'm not exactly sure what happened yet -- I think he was out mowing the lawn and came inside and had a heart attack. Apparently he called 911 all by himself, and they found him collapsed in the bathroom. He was dead before they got to the hospital. There was no one around, so in a sense I guess he was lucky that he was able to call 911. There was no one to perform CPR, etc...
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Sorry to hear that Woody. I really can't even imagine losing a parent let alone two and in such devastating ways. My fiance's mom died almost 4 years ago and today would have been her 65th birthday. She had passed away before we were dating, so I never met her, and he doesn't really open up about it much. So I can only imagine. Hopefully, you have a large extended family that will surround them with whatever they might need at a time like this.
"I tell all kids not to use that word. If they're 29 and they win the World Series, I think they can say that.
But I definitely would say to all the kids out there, 'Kids, it's a bad word. Don't say it. And I'm dead serious.' "

I hear siren. Siren getting closer. Then smash, right in front of my apartment, a car got in a wreck going the wrong way down my street. I was going to go out and have a look, but I have a pretty good view from my window, and the AC feels nice.

so are you saying you first heard sirens and then the smash? So they car hit a cop car or some other emergency vehicle??

They hit a parked car facing the other direction. I'm not sure if the cop was chasing them or not. My street is one way for a really long time, and as I live across the street from a park, there aren't too many places to turn onto it. I only wish I had been looking out the window sooner.

If prowling for co-eds is your bag, I highly recommend a trip to Bed Bath and Beyond this time of year. Difficulty: As a rule, accompanied by parent(s).

I had a conversation with a guy at a gas station today that went like this:

Him: Hey, how do you get to Orlando?
Me: You're in Orlando now, what area of Orlando do you need to get to?
Him: I just need to know how I get to Orlando from here.
Me: Right, this is Orlando. Are you trying to go downtown, one of the theme parks, where exactly are you trying to go?
Him: Just to Orlando.
Me: Go out and take a right and drive down 10 miles.
Him: Thanks!
Me: Yeah.
How dare you interrupt my Lime Rickey!
