Google chat statuses FTW!

Our undergrad email accounts became inactive, and, I thought inaccessible. something like 6 months after graduation. Fellow alum had a status about finding some old college emails she thought were lost forever.

I now have my senior thesis again, which I thought was a goner, because I was too dumb to make a copy of it. Pretty excited about this.

That will make your application to grad school a bit easier to complete.

Yeah. I'm pretty pleased about this on many levels.

I am watching Big Love for the first or second time and it is one of the weirdest shows I have ever seen.
Do it again!

Because of the music list thread, I listened to Silvergun Superman for the first time in 3-4 months (for whatever reason it just never hit my play list). Now I can't get that opening guitar out of my head.

yeah, same thing happened to me, but with Pearl Jam's "Alive." I went and listened to "Ten" again, but had to listen to that one on repeat a bunch.

Well, I just bought a ticket to go to Australia in June. My college roommate is working there for a couple years, and Qantas had an absurd sale--the round trip price is well less than half of what it usually is--so I figured what the hell.

Now just to make sure it doesn't kill me business-wise...

Georgetown will be lucky to go 5-13 in a weaker Big East next year. I hate myself already knowing I'm still going to write the check for season tickets.

How long you going for? Everyone I've talked to that's gone always seems to regret not spending an extended time there.

I'm hoping once I'm done this grad school spiel in 2+ years, I'll be able to spend some time there. I really love the idea of warm weather, amazing beaches, beautiful women, and Phillies baseball at 10 am.

I'll be there 12 days, but including travel the trip will go 15...

It's a weird thing. My wife isn't going with me--basically she can't countenance the idea of spending two weeks with my old roommate (whom she does like in small doses)--so I don't want to be gone for all that long. And I don't want to overly impose on the guy's hospitality; he has a job. But I also didn't want to go for such a short time that I was jet-lagged for half of it. OTOH, I'm getting in at 6.15 in the morning, and I can't sleep on planes worth a damn, so I assume that first day will be mostly a loss anyway and hopefully I'll be acclimated after that.

Hmm... it's true that Phils games probably will be on while he's at work. So that's something.

Probably should go in the TV thread but what the hell. I just watched the entire season (a whole 6 episodes) of EastBound & Down and it's hysterical. I haven't laughed out loud so much from a TV series in a long ass time. Kenny Powers rules and Will Ferrell's character is hysterical. Waiting to see April's (Katy Mixon) boobies from the very first episode was so worth the wait for the payoff in the beginning of Episode 6- even if they really weren't hers it's fun to pretend. I really hope they have a second season.

Kenny has so many great quotes that I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Another thought that I had that I don't know where to put... but I was going through some papers from the move and I found the e-ticket printouts from the Mets/Phils game that was rained out last September. Bear with me because my memory isn't the greatest but from what I remember the Mets ticket office couldn't give me a straight answer on whether we will be able to use them for a game this year with their new stadium opening and all but we should be able to get our money back at the very least. Frankly I don't even know who paid me for them and who didn't.

I guess I'll try and contact the ticket office and see what our options are. Even if we have to sit in the nosebleeds and make our noses bleed it will still be worth it to go. I just can't foot the entire bill this time as far as the party bus goes and all. I didn't get to piss on Shea but I'll be just as happy pissing all over their new stadium. I'll go old-school Vet stadium style and piss in the sinks if I have to.

That's pretty cool. I decided recently that I need to visit all of my close friends that have moved out of reasonable driving distance from me. They don't live anywhere seemingly as cool as Australia though.

Sony is dead to me. I'm good with computers and electronics but I bought a surround sound system and I swear to christ you need to go back to college to understand how to work the mf'r. For the life of me I can't understand why I need a digital fiber optic cable (not included so I wasted an additional $30) in addition to using HDMI cables. Of course my TV doesn't have a digi opt port because I have 3 god damn HDMI ports. As a result, I was resigned to rigging it with rca audio jacks in addition to the HDMI. Isn't that the point of HDMI? Audio and Video in one cable. No lie I spent 45 minutes cycling through their menu to try to adjust the rear speakers and it still didn't work.

I'm returning that piece of shit to Amazon. The price went up $100 after I bought it. I hope they fuck up and give me the extra $.

Anybody have a suggestion on a 5.1 system-in-a-box in the $300 - $400 range?

Fuck Sony I'm going to bed.
