just remembered how hilarious Perry Bible Fellowship was and read every comic on the site.

oddly enough, the comic that reminded me of the site wasn't on there anymore.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

We had a little snow again last night. We never had weather like this until Mick Bayne moved here. What's up with that?

Don't blame me... I'm waaaaay over in sunny Florida!

But you're right, from my year and a half or so in the Seattle area it seems to snow just as much (or maybe even more) than I remember in Philadelphia. I didn't even have a snow brush or ice scraper when I got to WA (coming from NC it was never much of an issue).
Another day, another box of stolen pens.

If you committed one of two crimes, but the state couldn't prove which, could they convict you for the lesser of the two?

Let's say that identical twins were caught on tape at the same time in two different locations. One was committing a robbery, the other was committing murder. They couldn't prove which twin did which crime. Would they both go free, or could they prove that each committed a felony of some sort, and put them in jail for that?

I would think not. But surely there would be other evidence linking the specific twin to the specific crime.

Well, there is a Law & Order episode where two people are tried for shooting one guy with one bullet. The state knows both were there, but doesn't know which guy is the trigger man, and through some legal mumbo jumbo, though they were originally supposed to be tried together, the trials get severed and neither defendant can admit in court that there is another defendant on trial for the same crime in a different trial without also admitting knowledge that would make it clear who did it.

It always seemed like a load of bull-shit to me.

In this case wouldn't both be tried for Felony murder. You don't actually have to kill someone to be tried for murder if someone dies while you are committing certain felonies -- Burglary; Arson; Robbery; Rape and Kidnapping in Washington.

Besides that, on TV they can just have the CSI folks dust the air for fingerprints and then obtain the easy confession. That always works unless one of the hot chick CSIs is sleeping with someone she shouldn't be and compromises the evidence or if one of the hunk guy CSIs has a gambling problem or something like that.
