For people who bemoan negative politics, that had to have been about the most positive convention speech in recent memory. A few digs at Obama, but also kind words, and it was almost entirely about his plan and himself. Not attacking Obama at all, really.

Levi Johnston's presence makes for two prisoners of war onstage.

I thought the same thing. But this didn't surprise me. That was all for last night and firing up "the base." Tonight was about reaching for the middle.

That was probably a big part of why I like the speech. He, as LAex promised, laid out something like a plan. I'm still not convinced he'll be able to continue to argue for a Republican agenda and still distinguish himself from Bush, but he gave a good indication of how he's going to try to do this tonight.

I like that the first line of the speech was basically a sop to Bush, and Keith Olbermann managed to go on and on about how he didn't mention Bush in the whole speech.

Keith Olbermann is the most pathetic individual in the media today. He's a fucking anchor, and he's blinded by hatred.

I watched Olbermann for a bit last night and he led someone who he presumed would rip Palin's speech apart into a smack it question and they basically just praised and praised Palin's speech. He kept grimacing and trying to get him off the question.

It was hilarious but he is a dickbag rat.

ORLY and Olbermann should have a show together. Where they have to sit 6 inches from each other. No commercial breaks. Live. For 2 hours a night.

The difference between O'Reilly and Olbermann though is the fact that O'Reilly is successful. Even people that hate him watch him. Olbermann annoys pretty much everyone.
