McCain/Pallin is a very good and strong ticket.

Too bad Rush Limbaugh supports it.

i'm not a politic guy at all, but to me that doesn't make sense when half the argument against obama is that he has no experience.

someone enlighten me, please

The thinking is that running a whole state as governor is better experience for being a President than having experience as a senator. Plus, she's VP, not Pres, so the experience thing isn't quite as important for her.

That is a crazy VP pick. If he was hoping for shock value he certainly got it.

but she's running ALASKA. she basically watches over the coast guard, fishing industry, and oil.

i don't see how much involvement she has in running as compared to say PA or NY.

the opposite is true. i did not hop on the bandwagon or subscribe to the cult of personality, waiting instead to hear something of substance aside from the same old same old. he has his moments, but by and large, he's a pretty standard tax and spend liberal. any sort of financial restraint would have been greeted with open arms. instead, the federal government's going to make college more affordable? good luck.

well, all of his policies and the analysis of those policies is readily available online. so I dont know what you were hoping to learn from last night's speech.

yeah, i know about all his policies already, that's not what i meant in my original post. what i was wondering about last night was his "bring us together" mantra. i think part of his speech played as the angry out of power view point. the biggest cheers from the audience were the anti-bush remarks. ok, but half the country voted for the guy twice. his inexperience as an executive is a legit question, but not a be all and end all. but he's running on his ability to bridge gaps, and i dont' hear any examples of him bridging gaps and i personally am not getting that feeling from his speeches, regardless of how inspirational they may be to the already-converted.

palin. wow, kinda surprised. that veep debate could be pretty fun to watch. two very diffrent candidates.

Brilliant pick. Female appeal. Young. Enhances maverick image as she's no party insider. Appeal to conservatives while still having something for independents.

Oh, were it that simple.

Palin has taken on the corrupt Republican culture in Alaska (Stevens, Young, et. al) from the get go and succeeded at almost every stop. I'm assuming it's mostly accurate, but here's her Wiki page for more details on what she has accomplished in a realtively short amount of time...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin

Highlights of Governor Palin's tenure include a successful push for an ethics bill, and also shelving pork-barrel projects supported by fellow Republicans. Palin successfully killed the Bridge to Nowhere project that had become a nationwide symbol of wasteful earmark spending.[9][16] "Alaska needs to be self-sufficient, she says, instead of relying heavily on 'federal dollars,' as the state does today."

That kind of thing just doesn't happen in Alaska, thanks to scumbag Sen. Stevens and his ilk along with Alaska's past reliance on federal funds.

No candidate is without flaws or at least perceived flaws and she's no exception. I believe she'll be a net positive to McCain's campaign when it's all said and done.

I saw that they were talking about that on MSNBC. It is a seriously legitimate question.

She was on the Wasilla city council for 4 years, became Mayor, and just was eleceted governor in 06.

The theory is that she's young, hot, and can possibly steal votes from Hillary supporters. At least that's my cynical marketing take.
