CNN's exit polls don't seem that far off

Most of the stats that Obama was supposed to get in the 70's are in the low 50's.

This is the first time I've everpaid attention to this so give me a break if I am being oblivious.

Nah, it's cool...it's my first time paying attention, too.

The exit polls in Illinois and Georgia, for example, suggest the final tally will be significantly higher than where it's at now. It just too early I guess.

Definitely. Maybe Hillary voters vote late. Yeesh.

I think I need to start drinking just out of solidarity with my alter ego.

Hudson machine absolutely cranking it for Hillary right now. 70-27% w/ 38% of the vote in. Obama winning Essex (Newark) but only 55-44% and 56% of that vote is in.

Clinton looking pretty good in Jersey.

Edit: Looking at the exit poll, it looks like they're predicting a dead heat. Um, wonder where Obama is gonna catch up? Bergen, maybe? Lots of rich white folks turning out for him?

Obama would need to run up huge margins in Mercer, Middlesex and Union counties (Mercer=Trenton, Middlesex=New Brunswick), all pretty populous counties, all heavily Democratic. I guess there are some pockets of minorities there, but it looks like Hillary is doing well in South Jersey, and is racking up her margin of victory in Hudson.

According to the always reliable Wikipedia, Obama has won pretty much everything. I forgot his middle name is Hussein.

I don't know. What you describe defies exit polling data.

Laexile wrote:Romney isn't conservative. When the tide started going for McCain Romney repositioned himself as being on the other side of the issue from McCain pretty much down the line. If Romney were to get the nomination he'd move to the center faster than you can say, "flip-flop."

Romney's positioning is what makes him more conservative. McCain is conservative on only two issues - abortion (not even life, he's for federal funding of embryonic stem cells) and the war. That's it.
