ouch.

I think the reason the Shady thing is going the way it is - is because they really hurt those cops. It wasn't bruised ego, it was cracked ribs. That's fierce. I'm sure all involved regret it. Shady of course has the deep pockets and I could see him getting out of the criminal thing but paying out in a civil situation. I hope he learns a lesson and doesn't do real time. Of the 4 was he kicking and stomping too? Was he a leader? Were they all both parties massively drunk? And - because they were off-duty cops not sure if that's better or worse?

Honeslty don giv a f about it. Shady was straight stoopid to be in that moment at all - walk away man, walk away - no matter what!

The best part is he already didn't learn a thing. Out on the town last night in Philly. Is there not one person in his life that could tell him to MAYBE lay low for a little bit.

A week after saying he's ugly as F, SI doesn't have Bradford as one of the top 40 FAs this offseason

I feel like we always project some journeyman rookie practice squad guy or back up - 3rd stringer to fill in for a Pro Bowler like it's no big deal.

Sproles is a known quantity who at least as of last seaosn, hadn't lost the magic. Barner isn't as quick or reliable and Huff is like Quinton Demps, a guy who flashed once or twice but is not necessarily a regular threat in every game.

Sproles is 33 now I think - can we just keep him for a year and make sure ST is an asset for us. We'll see how the rest shakes out in terms of running backs and backup KR etc...

I wondering more and more now - if Bradford is not really seen as anything special league-wide and would any other team besides Houston give him a pay-day? And how far is Houston willing to go? Maybe Tom Condon can't get what he thinks he can get?

I still don't really want Foles though between Foles and Sanchize at least Foles can get the ball down the field but both are INT machines that ruin your Sunday afternoons.... Chase Daniels is the same as those 2 to me until proven otherwise. His only edge is knowing the system right off the bat. Nick may remember some of Andy's stuff from before Chip.

Maybe we can end up w Bradford under a more reasonable deal?

I heard someone today say that RGIII on a incentive laden deal was not a bad idea. He's still only 26 and if he's put his ego in check and ready to work - he has talent ??? Makes me wary but it could be interesting....

That's because we've made him out to be something he's not, well some of us. He's an average (at best) QB who isn't a leader on the field. His accuracy is also hugely overrated.

Yep. How'd that Jeremy Bloom thing work out? Not so good, eh?

i agree that sproles is good and barner/huff aren't that special, but if you're worried about cap room and you aren't going to fully take advantage of sproles's talents, why keep him? that was the context of the question, what he counts against the cap. i'd love if they got rod of murray instead, but that's a lot more problematic.

Sproles is used to advantage - he's a key member of STs. As we've seen many times in the NFL. Having a top ST can make a big difference.

Bill Barnwill: Five moves the NFC East teams should make. Nothing too creative here, just dead period reading, I guess. I agree with 3-5 and probably No. 1 as well, since I'd try to re-sign Sam.

Eagles:
Don't franchise Bradford
Sign Chase Daniel
Lock up Fletcher Cox
Re-sign Thurmond
Stand pat with DeMarco

Agree on all five. I think DeMarco still has plenty left when used properly

Would you blame the Eagles if he wants a Suh deal? Similar terms? Suh and Lake are eating up some crazy amount of cap space for Miami.

Can't franchise Bradford - it's too limiting for other things they need and want to do.
Sign Chase Daniel? He won't come here if he isn't told he'll get a fair chance to start. What if he's not better than Sanchize. Are we really going to put our hopes for this season in a 30 year old who has almost never played any real minutes?
Of course we want to lock up Fletcher - but if Fletcher wants a N Suh deal???
Thurmond was a nice player - but Schwartz isn't Davis and I'd let the new DC decide if he wants both his safeties to be thin ex-corners?
Absolutely - Demarco Murray may never get 1800 yards again or even 1500 yards. And honestly with Ryan Mathews, et al - he shouldn't need to on the Eagles, but this story line that he's slow, sucks, over, done - is nonsense. He wasn't in a good situaiton. As I've pointed out several times arlready:

Even last year - in the tough tough 2015 season -- Ryan and Demarco combined for just over 1200 yards and 12 TDS!!! We'd be thrilled to have a back get 12TDs every year!

He's not likely going to be less effective. And you need depth. Look at Pitt when Bell went down, and the Deangelo went down. You need two starting caliber rbs.

All things being equal, I'd rather have Shady back (sanz his latest cop beat down incident and running of the mouth) Shady was more exciting anf fun to watch - but Murray is not a scrub. We can decide next year whether what he offers is worth the money - that's another matter and what other options there are - as RBs come and go. It's hard to get an AP or a Shady - a guy you can ride for a decade at RB. That's why I hated losing him because he was a once in a couple generations RB. BWest was great but a short career marred by injury. Duce had 2-3 good years but not a decade. Ricky Watters had 2-3 good years. Even Wilbert one of my all-time favorite Eagles, only had 5 good years.

(nostalgic moment p-t-k style done)

Murray at least for this season should be an "of course".
