How would Kiper know what SF plans at 4? Chip is a wild-card and they have Gabbert and Kaepernick. Kaep has a huge roster bonus due before the draft. So is Chip going with the 2nd best prospect over a proven guy? Are the Niners trying to get free of the contract?

Kiper aside - I do think there is a good chance that neither of the top 2 QBs are there at the Eagles pick at #13 overall. And I wouldn't be surprised either, if Lynch feel to the 2nd round.

Grote's argument about Bradford - is similar to where I was a month ago and most of this post-season - but I'm starting to wane --

So Kiper thinks they are drafting and not going after RGIII. Hmmm. I really thought Jerry would make a play for RGIII since Romo is still in theory his guy. RGIII is 26, from Texas -- is more credible than Johnny Manziel. And I think he could be had for an incentive laden deal. But RGIII probably doesn't want to under-study to Romo.

So if Wentz is now more desired than Lynch, and both Goff and Wentz are snagged before 13. Then we're still in the same boat. Picking a guy like Cardale or the NC State QB in the 5th round - and choosing from the career backups like Chase Daniels and Mark Sanchez - or making a move with Bradford.

You're asking if the Cowboys would trade a top 5 pick, one of the most valuable assets in football, for a much lesser pick and a RB who looked ready to retire with a lot of money on his deal.
