So rumors are results now?

Have you not liked any of the actual re-signings they've made?

He must have gotten it somewhere and his cred is on the line - so he's re-inforcing it.

I guess Rams have a roster bonus and Foles is likely cut. Maybe the Birds try to do something after that? Would we be responsible to assume his deal hesigned in St Louis?

I can see them bringing him back in lieu of not affording Bradford I guess - but his only success was with Chip. He's a nice kid, and I know that Bratfort doesn't have a lot of supporters - but there was always one key difference for me with Foles and Bradford - Foles always back pedals, the sign of a non-legit QB. Bradford steps up like a legit QB. Look at film, you will see what I'm taking about. Klob had the back-pedal issue too.

Foles has a bit more arm than Sanchize - but I don't see how the Birds could sell it to the fans? Sanchez nor Foles are part of a SB run. And short of Goff or Wentz or Paxton - none of which I see as likely at #13 overall - who are they thinking they will draft in the 3rd? Mich State guy will be gone too. Penn State guy? Cardale? 5mil to Sanchez and 6mil to Foles ? really? That's the story?

Everyone from Foles success Desean Shady and Maclin are gone.

Eagles are in a bad situation. Overpay for Brad or underwhelm fans and have an 8-8 QB at the helm.

Foles' arm strength doesn't fucking matter when he's falling backwards throwing it blindly. They gave him and picks up for a consistently hurt QB who's consistently been on loser teams at the pro level and now they're thinking of bringing him back? This is shit the Browns do. We're becoming the Redskins. We are Oakland. Darkest timeline.

That Rosebud would cut and run on Bradford makes perfect sense since he was Chip's boy. If SB stays here and does well that makes Chip look like a bright guy. Rosey isn't into that at all.

Ertz = good.
Johnson = good.
Celek - dumb because he was the one player who could have been cut with no cap damage and also save $5M per. And he's been my favorite player since he emerged a decade ago.
Curry - yet to be seen as he is supposed to be a lot better in a 4-3. Let's hope so.

I am glad that they are looking at other options than Bradford. He's not the answer. Back to the Future and Biff Foles is also not the answer.

I really don't think it's about Chip vs Howie.

I think it's the juggling act they always do at Novacare - about managing the cap - and the want to do a hard re-set with Doug, as a proxy for the Andy/Jeff/Novacare - way.

Nothing out-of-the-box. Try to rebuild the D. Balanced offense. Good communicator HC who is liked by brass and players. Sign up their own young talent. Add a piece here and there in FA. Draft well - and so the only problem - is that there has never been a successor to Donovan. Donovan's decline happened quicker than other QB of his era or near to his era.

I do think they believe Bradford is better than Foles, Sanchez or Chase Daniels. But they are reticent, and rightly so - of over-spending in terms of years, bonus and guaranteed money. Someone will likely pay, Houston perhaps, what Condo is asking.

I suspect the Eagles will not tag because that's also not their 'mo' - it breeds acrimony - opposite of what they are trying to communicate to players now - and the cap inplications for this year make the rest of their master plan very difficult to implement. Not sure they can sign Fletcher and Bradford this year to the deals they require?

If there is any talk of anything - it's probably because much as they'd like Bradford for 15-16mil for 3 year deal, he's gonna get 19-20mil for 5 year deal.

Talk of Foles is just a chance to get someone they know, still young enough - and with a more conservative offense - he and Sanchize can compete and alternate and whatever the heck they want to do - while still trying to figure out the future.

It's not that they think Bradford is no better than those others - it's the contract.

Haters like Rob Charry - think Bradford is total sh** and won't acknowledge what he does well. He claims Foles is better QB. That's idiotic. The Birds don't think that. but the Birds are factoring cost and being pinned down. Bradford isn't being reasonable. He's getting max. He knows he might get hurt again. He blew out his knee last time jogging to sideline.

He's a much better Qb than Foles, but if Foles is 6-8mil and Bradford is 19mil? And if Bradford goes down - they are stuck.

I wish I believed in RGIII as that would stoke the fan base. But I don't believe in him. I don't want the "CAM effect". I want a young Drew Brees or Big Ben or Rogers - and those guys usually come in the first round of a draft.

Let me go on record now - as saying I'd like to somehow end up with Wentz. All I've seen of him is that highlight reel which was lower competition and all his best work. And that it can take most rookie QBs 2-3 years to begin to find their groove and 5 to sniff a SB - if there is a way to snag him - I'm for whatever plan makes that happen - including letting Bradford go.

But if there is no one to draft by #13 -- and it's a choice between tanking next year with a mash-up of Foles, Sanchez, whomever - and some 3rd round rookie QB -- vs. Bradford. I actually think Bradford could win 11 games with Eagles next year if Murray is back on point and the D becomes say 13th best overall D in yards and 18th best in points allowed. I'd rather have the 11 win season and playoffs - than another 7-9 win season with mash-up QB and start again with a rookie in 17 or 18 - and btw - we're not going to pick #1-#6 likely anyway so how do we get next year's top guy? or one of?

Can't Hinkie-it in the NFL. Doesn't work.

I'd just bring in RGIII and Foles. That's the funnest option from a complete meltdown standpoint.

My experience with Riley Cooper was that he was always a pro, always a team-first guy, always worked hard. Stand-up guy in locker room.

According to two different people familiar with the negotiations, Cox could end up with a deal that has over $50 million in guaranteed money, and one said the smart bet is to take the over. It wouldn't be surprising to see Cox's new deal have an average cap hit over $15 million.

Despite the large price tag, the two sides are close to a deal, a sign of just how committed the Eagles are to keeping Cox and making him, in many ways, the face of the franchise.
