Last night, I called and scolded the voicemail of a company in Hawaii (Big Island) for not shipping a product I had ordered.

Then I read the news and saw that the Big Island was currently being battered by a hurricane, and had had an earthquake that day.

Finally finished my garage door and opener installation - and everything worked - on the first try.

I have to go to work tomorrow. And then I'll have to go every weekday until the Wednesday before Thanksgivings, except for Labor Day. And I only get 4 weeks off at Christmas.

Which people? The nukes are only part of the problem. Their ability to choke off energy supplies is the big threat.

We have a Russian exchange program at my university, and the most stunning thing to me is how differently Russians think about politics and government, and the assumption they have that everyone is like them. They simply have no experience with norms like rule of law or checks on power.

We should just invade and take over...they have WMDs

Speaking of which, tom clancy has written some nice books around war in that part of the country over natural resources (Red Storm Rising early and I think the bear and the dragon more recently)
