Isn't Nick Williams the centerfielder of the future? That future isn't that far away either so the Phillies will have to make a decision.

Gloucester's Greg Burke, a righty sidearm reliever and ex-dirty Met, signed a minor league deal w/ invite to ST

Some Rule 5 speculation:

Is Blash worth a shot, or is 26 "too old?"
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."

Whoa, Dodgers have 3 guys in the top 6?

Pretty cool to see so many Phillies prospects on there. The future is bright.

not actually fangraphs top 100, just some guy who created a system to try to predict future success. it's wildly laughable.

Ha, this was the first sentence in the second paragraph

I know you probably know this, but I’d like to reiterate that you shouldn’t think of this as “Chris Mitchell’s Top 100 List,” and certainly not “FanGraphs’ Top 100 List.”

much more intrigued by the 2nd guy on that list: tyler goeddel. could be another odubel.
gettum.

on that fangraphs list...
at least its an improvement over last year, when he didn't even take sample size or defensive position into account. the creator works closely with hardballtimes and fangraphs people with really good raw data and successful baseball forecasting experience, and does know some useful stuff about high-tech regressions, so there's hope for a useful version of katoh appearing in a year or two... if he pays more attention to the well-informed criticism he's getting. up till now, though, he's been making spectacularly wasteful use of very fancy modeling tools. that he puts so much work into identifying the right weights for various minor league stats.... and still insists on applying them to just one season of data.... arrgghhh!
even without the fancy weights, zips is kicking his butt thanks to paying attention to things like whole minor league careers and aging curves and park/league corrections. all he has to do is incorporate the things others already have sorted out and he could have something useful.
heck... just take his table and make a new column for (5*2015+4*2014)/9 and sort by that and the list gets more sane. (crawford still #2, though!).
