Picollo a "heavy favorite" now according to Nightengale.

Crasnick now saying someone close to the GM search is disputing the report that Picollo is the favorite. So, there you go.

Cherington is just playing hardball to get that extra $

Picollo is a former catcher & scout, he probably beats up analytics guys and takes their lunch money.

cherington was a total failure in free agency and signed some dumb contracts, but their farm system is really good. think i'd be pretty meh if he was the guy.

I've always wondered how much of the free agent signings was him and how much was Lucchino and ownership.

And their 2012 offseason moves were amazing. But he's certainly familiar with analytics and INTL talent and prospect development, which would complement MacPhail

that is certainly a possibility and i've read that lucchino was too involved. the porcello deal was laughable and i can't imagine ownership was breathing down his neck to sign him to that. if the phils did their due diligence and found it was mostly ownership then i'd be on board. wonder why middleton has picked him has his guy though.

Surprised by Joseph, but I probably shouldn't be. The others... oh well.

Hey, remember when Brown got called up and hit a double in his first AB? That was cool.

Yeah, that's a surprise to me, too. Injuries may have derailed his career entirely at this point. Sapped his power.
