I'm not sure but that could be a result of more of his batted balls flying out of the yard. Pure speculation on my part.

The new Cuban, KRATZ, and Colton Murray were called up. Murray is NapKen's best pal.

LHP Matt Harrison and RHP Chad Billingsley were transferred to the 60-day DL to create space on the 40-man roster for two September call-ups: C Erik Kratz and RHP Colton Murray. Philadelphia recalled RHP Dalier Hinojosa from Triple-A Lehigh Valley

I wonder if the Orioles will fire Showalter at year end? I would take him here in a heartbeat.

Can't believe he's only 59. Anyway, here's an interesting article about him

I think the fan perception about Ruben from July 1 through this date has changed dramatically. I think the fans in Philadelphia are very knowledgeable. I think the fans know we've got a plan. And I think the fans know we're headed in the right direction. I think that really bodes well for Ruben.

There was a sense of optimism around the Phillies in recent days that Maikel Franco would return to game action before season's end. The rookie third baseman had taken ground balls and played catch for more than a week without pain in his left wrist.

But that optimism was tempered Wednesday afternoon when Franco took 20 pitches of soft toss in a Citi Field batting cage. The same discomfort Franco had experienced resurfaced when he swung through the ball. The Phillies could shut him down for the season if his wrist does not improve over the next week.

If that wrist needs surgery, its not time to dink around with it. Get it done so he's ready for next season. If the Phillies get to ST and find out that it needed work six months before, that's going to be a bad position to be in.

Guess we need to make ourselves clearer. Because I won't spend a dollar on the team if Amaro's still around.

I find it hard to believe the people of Philadelphia have changed their minds about Ruben fucking Amaro, the guy who said they were stupid. Philadelphians DO NOT like being talk down to (see NYC).

If he's been in charge the last year or so he's done a good job. If not, he's already gone. Once he started talkin about how dumb the fans are and how Utley wasn't the starter anymore I assumed the decision was already made and he didn't care to be diplomatic anymore.

me too. He was always a bit sloppy with his PR stuff, but lately he's been a complete idiot. Maybe it was the fan ire that got to him, but it sure seemed like he didn't give a dang.
