That is because he has been done for the last four.

Interim manager Pete Mackanin said he is optimistic that Franco will return this season. The third baseman is two home runs shy of 15, the mark veteran Jeff Francoeur challenged him to reach. Francoeur will buy Franco two suits if he finishes with 15 homers. The rookie will have to get back on the field for that to happen."I want to do it," Franco said. "The last six games, I'll try to do it and I'll get a suit."

Not a stinker just no definitive #1 guy yet. Considered much better than 2015. The silver lining in no definitive #1 is saving 2-3 million for later rounds which is equivalent to a pick around #13-#18. Even better is adding that savings to round 2 pick and that's equivalent to top 7 pick. Houston got Daz Cameron at #37 by saving 1.5 million on #2 pick.

Just the sort of veteran leadership this squad needs

If Francoeur was a real stand-up guy, he would buy the suits anyway. Clearly, if Franco had not gotten injured, he would have hit 2 more homers (he might anyway).

i have no doubt that regardless of how much Franco does or doesn't play that there will be 2 suits waiting for him in his locker or he'll get a surprise trip to a tailor on the last day of the season.
