A Final Ode to Coal Hummus and other Phillies Thoughts

Amazing how much easier it is to build up a decent system when you trade every valuable veteran on your roster.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

* I will politely disagree with this. Bastardo was a classic loogy (3.54 / 1.36 WHIP) that you find in many places. Rollins is washed up he's batting .223 even after a nice run lately with a .640 OPS and his classic 11 HRs because he's trying to be a stud. Byrd is a joke of a journeyman who floats around and is a decent player for a non playoff team. Revere? Laughable.

Papelbon is a legit piece and Hamels is a stud - but for people to see our veterans as valuable when we sucked - was fortuitous.

Well I was using valuable to mean a player for which someone willing to give value

What a disastrous week for Buchanan. Hopefully the Phillies bring up Eickhoff or Asher.

Not to mention he was a 10 win player between 2012-2014.

Byrd's been good the last few years too but I didn't want to engage.

Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi
Sources: #SFGiants and #Phillies in ongoing talks about Chase Utley trade. Stage is advanced enough that prospect names have been discussed.

Makes too much sense but it was enough seeing PTB in that hideous uniform
