Deadline is past, even if news might still be coming in. Buzz is nothing at this point until Utley clears waivers, and he isn't getting traded while on the DL. That wouldn't make sense for either team.

I hope Utley ends up with the Angels. Would be cool having Trout & Utley together.

i just feel like the return on utley at this point isn't going to be worth him not spending his entire career with the phillies. of course that's me being totally emotional about the whole thing. probably valid points for doing it; but while i've been able to be OK with the other trades, this one is gonna suck

Yeah, would really like to get a Hamels one or even a Sunday jersey if the prices drop significantly. I think he and J-Roll are my two all time favorite phills. Don't care that they are on other teams. Flags fly forever

In all seriousness picking up Worley (DFA'd by Pirates) makes plenty of sense. He's not even 28 yet, send Williams to the glue factory

Yeah, Worley bird has a 114 era+ the last year and half with Pittsburgh (2014 - 127; 2015 - 98) compared to 88 ( 80 and 60 respectively) for the pink puka.

I, too, desire the return of the Worleybird.

Yeah, he hasn't actually pitched very well. Which is not to say he still isn't better than Williams.

I mean, there's a reason he's available, right? I'd bring him back to give him a shot.
