Let's get Vanimal back!
Pirates DFA'd him to make room for Blanton.

Aaron Nola will fill the Cole Hamels role quite nicely if you know what I mean.

Hoping for a good start for Harang and for he and Revere to be lifted at some point during this game.

There is one other twist that makes poring closely over contract language a real task in this deal. The Rangers are believed to be transferring the insurance policy they hold on Harrison’s back to Philadelphia. That involves a third party outside of MLB’s purview. The policy called for the Rangers to receive 75 percent of Harrison’s salary (after he was out a certain number of days) as part of their claim.

This is a pretty clever get from Amaro/Gillick/MacPhail/whoever here, especially if the Harrison contract was part of the salary relief

Before you give our guys too much credit, according to Grant it's unclear whether Texas has already collected on the policy or the Phillies will get the benefit (or whether some has been paid and there's more yet to be paid).

Lots of internet chatter that Zach Davies will be the return in trade. He's the Orioles #3 prospect, but before you get too excited, he'll probably rank 14-15 here as their system is horrendous.

turned out that the of defensive value was a sss illusion and only his baserunning was elite, and his ability to leverage that value was eroded by the unlucky broken foot and by his (or sandberg's?) not-so-unlucky decision to swing even more freely so that his walk rate went down instead of up. however, in the calendar years before and after the injury and year-long recovery, his speed and contact skills kept him above the mean and median in offensive value for a major league outfielder, and that should be enough to get at least worley-level return for him now
