Just keep Cole...he'll be the #1 trade asset in all of baseball in the Offseason.

I agree. I'm sure they're willing to eat almost all of his deal. You can't tell me Howard at pennies on the dollar can't help somebody down the stretch.

wouldnt surprise me if the Cards get him in August sometime for dreck and the Phils eating it all but around 6 million, and I'm ok with that

Especially if Holliday is indeed done for the year. Mark Reynolds has been terrible, but he's on a 1-year deal anyway. No reason they can't just do a straight platoon with him and Howard. Reynolds has been at least marginally serviceable against LHP.

I assume Piscotty takes over in LF now, but he's only got like 20 ML AB under his belt. As much as I expect him to bat .400 between now and the WS because that's what those guys do for the Cardinals, they obviously can't rely on that. They need someone to fill out that lineup.

I wonder if the Brewers would be willing to send Gomez there. Seems like an obvious move for the Cards now, but it's within the division. Move Grichuk to LF, and their OF defense would be sick with Grichuk-Gomez-Heyward.
