first guy is 30, best case scenario a solid regular at lehigh valley. second guy, sprout at just 29, .564 ops in 273 career ML ABs

Wow, that does seem like a huge mistake. Good for us! Now we can spend 12mil a year on a long term deal for someone crappy!

That's pretty phenomenal. Howard is a pretty good hitter, but if he knew how to conquer the shift he could have been elite.

I imagine a lot of hitters do better when they don't hit the ball at fielders, but I'm just guessing.
