57 games scoring 3 or less

12 shutouts
12 games scoring only 1

just waiting for these guys to start hitting, y'know? The players have to do their jobs
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

if he keeps hitting like he is and/or remains is significantly cheaper than byrd, i would like to keep sizemore. even with the injuries having taken away some of his tools, i suspect that a guy whose #1 comp through age 26 was barry bonds (!!!!!) has enough other tools (strike zone control, instincts) to be close to league average as a corner outfielder. a good gm can and should be able to get some much-needed pitching depth for byrd, but then sizemore looks like the best hope of avoiding a 100-loss season resulting from having two black holes in the outfield, plus that at 1b, plus the defensive issues of asche and revere. [this is assuming that brown and ruf are hopeless anywhere but at 1b, which is what i believe, mayberry is hopeless versus righties, and that none of castro/quinn/dugan/altherr will really be ready for the bigs before 2016].

If Sizemore keeps hitting like he is I'd want to get something for him in August.

That's what I'm thinking.

I love watching him play -- the fact that he was clearly, like, trained to play baseball is refreshing for our LF/CF mix. But the odds of him keeping this production up not only this year but the time it takes us to contend again seem slim

I like Sizemore's corpse better than Revere.

I don't want to move him for a 31-year-old middle reliever with nothing on his fastball. Meaning, I don't want Amaro dealing him. You can't pay him like he's going to be healthy, but I'd like to have him back. And a friendly-ish deal makes him very movable if he DOES happen to be healthy for the first time since 2008.

You could offer him a deal similar to the incentive laden one that he got from Boston. It's doubtful that any organization would offer him a clean, incentive free deal that paid well.

Not all on the same day. I think the limit is seven waiver requests per day.

Interesting. The obvious trade candidates (whether realistic or not), but not Byrd

Don't we have him for the minimum since he was released by Boston? So if we put him on waivers I would imagine everyone would out in a claim since there's virtually no risk in claiming him. I may be wrong, but it just seems like he would get claimed by some other shit team who wouldn't be willing to give up anything for him forcing us to either let him go for nothing or pull him back.

I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

It's more likely that someone claims Giles and we don't pull him back because Amaro thinks they claimed BILL Giles.

Sizemore cleared waivers before being released by Boston, so he may not need to go through waivers again to be traded.

From what little information is out there, I think you have to clear waivers during the month of August to be eligible to be traded.
