Not all on the same day. I think the limit is seven waiver requests per day.

in the fangraphs wrc+ list of 385 mlb players with at least 100 pa's this season, revere is in place 205 with a score of 93. that's a bit behind abreu (96, place 188), but ahead of all sorts of interesting names such as...

continuing my neverending quest for measures of the offensive that can be considered comprehensive and valid enough to make useful contributions to our discussions about the relative worth of players we (dis)like...
i just discovered via the fangraphs glossary section that they took baserunning OUT of wrc+. unfortunately, that seems to leave us with only one column in any b-r or fangraph table providing a league and park adjusted rate (as opposed to counting) stat for "pure" total offense without the controversial positional and replacement adjustments: totA from b-r, which has not been validated (via comparison to actual team wins and runs) as thoroughly as the linear weights / war stats.

fortunately, b-r breaks out their owar components well enough to make it apparent that the "pure" offensive rate stat that i want should work out to be simply: (rbat+rbaser+rdp)/pa.

i made a table of that for all major leaguers, then excluded pitchers, then kicked out the no-way-they-should-show-up-anywhere-near-trout crew by excluding those with less than 100 pa's. that left me with 384 players, which is pretty close to 8 or 9 (al) regulars plus 4 primary bench guys per team.

phils have players ranking 73, 79, 88, 92, 133, 203, 213, 235, 293, 307, and 338.
to make jeff happy, i'll confess that the last one is gwynn. to annoy him, i'll let y'all know that b.abreu is well below revere and ruiz. (so are a list of players very similar to the one i provided in my earlier wrc+ post.) and to placate him i'll admit that i don't think either will sustain this unless revere learns to walk and ruiz gets much more rest when he's not on the dl.

i should also point out that the reason that our best players are so low here is precisely because there is no positional adjustment, so utley falls behind a bunch of slugging outfielders and first basemen. given that, i think the rest of the names matching the order above can be guessed.

Some guy named Hector Neris RHP called up. I assume Aumont demoted or hopefully DFA'd.

Nothing too interesting about Neris' stats. 25 year old Dominican. Has pitched well lately I guess.

Struck out guys in the low minors but his Numbers this year are meh.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Is the problem Dave Montgomery?

Is he just the wrong executive? Too connected to the old Phils.

I will say this one thing -- yes, players age. They get run down. 162 is a grind. 33-34-35-36, without peds, you can't expect peak year performance. But even if Howard was no longer a 40+hr, guy, I think most of us figured he'd still be a 33hr 100rbi guy. I think most of us thought/hoped, Chase if healthy enough, could maintain a .290 ba and OPS .840-.880

What's going to backfire now for the Phls brass, is that their loyalty to the iconic Phils they won in 08 with, and the good run, what will be remembered were the tedious years that they hung around stinkn up the joint. I would be a lot more forgiving if they had won another WS in 10 or 11 or both. I'd happily watch them decline and collect phat stacks if they had gone to 3-4 WS and won 1-2-3 of them...

Real Shame Dom Brown's flash last year was a dream sequence and not the emergence of a top 15 MLB stud. If Revere had 50 walks and payed great D, that would have been nice.

It's like really - sad.

Couldn't get enough of T. Gwynn Jr. He's back on a minor league deal.

By the time Neris made it to the clubhouse to pack his bags, Luis Garcia, MAG, Leandro Castro and Maikel Franco were waiting to celebrate.

“He was laying on the couch like he couldn’t move,” Garcia said. “We had to help him pack his stuff and everything. He was there just crying. That was a good time.”

664 OPS for Howard. Revere's is 681, Dom Brown's is 621
