If we did a pap for kemp deal, I would think we need to get $30mil back from the dodgers on that. The contract breakdown is like this:
Pap:

So, basically, in paps remaining years we pay Kemp's full salary and he's the CF. Then in the last three years, the dodgers pitch in $10mm per so we get kemp in his late 30's at $11.5mil/yr and then move him to a corner and hope he can ibanez his way through the later part of the contract.

I think that is a pretty fair deal from both sides, the dodgers get short term payroll flexibility(lol), open a spot for Joc and get a closer having a l33t year.

The phillies get to undo the papelbon del and get a cf who is not a piece of shit and *could* possibly be pretty good the next few years. If you can move lee and get some pieces and make a few other things happen, it's not impossible to think that kemp could be a part of the next phillies playoff team.

Assuming the medicals look alright, I'd roll the dice on Kemp. If he gets his shit together, that's a serious bat in the middle of the order for an attempted rebuild on the fly, and/or a great trade chip

If not, it's just money, which won't really matter in the short term, or the long term (with Lee and Howard and others gone by 2017 at the latest)
