I'm not sure that statement is correct since Carpenter represents one of the upgrades and one of the guys being upgraded from.

Marlon Byrd is better than Roger Bernadina. I think.

Chooch's average distance on flyballs last year 284th out of 300 qualifiers (258) and dropped 28 feet from. Only Ike Davis, Kemp, and Hamilton had bigger drops.

ftn proposed this yesterday on twitter which got me thinking about it for a bit and figured i'd post it here to generate some discussion.

the phillies send rollins to the cards for one of their pitchers, then trade prospects to the rangers for andrus.

certainly it would rely on a few things. rollins would have to agree to go to stl. stl would have had to come up empty in their search for a ss or maybe they'd try to trade for andrus themselves. texas would have to sign cano to make andrus available. in 2015 andrus starts an 8/120 contract. he'll play most of next at 25, is an elite defender and is serviceable with the bat. the contract is kind of meh, but maybe that lowers his asking price a bit. just thought i'd throw it out there since floppy isn't around any more.

That Andrus contract is horrible, 120mill for an .600 opsing SS. We could just trot out Galvis and get the Defensive awesomeness and offensive ineptitude without paying 120mill for it.

Texas just traded Kinsler. Don't think Andrus is on the market now. Cano to TX? Possible I guess. Rollins for a good pitcher would be kewl. A pipedream but a kewl one.
