How about we not fantasise about trading for Andrus and his 8/120 contract. No-one should be advocating we trade for him, he's all defense and we already have an all-defense SS we won't have to pay 120mill to if we trade J-Roll.

in his 5 fulls years he has put up wRC+ of 81, 75, 93, 97, and 78. he's 25. i think it's possible you see his prime wRC+ in the 100 range which coupled with his elite defense makes him very valuable. career bb% 8.2, k% 13.4.

His peak might be in the 100 range, but you also might see consistent 70-80 wRC+ for the contract length. His best wRC+ was with a .332 BABIP. We have Galvis who can fulfill the defensive work while putting up a 70-80 wRC+, only we won't have to pay him 120 million. If Andrus had a less absurd contract he'd be a definite target, but that contract is a problem.

Ben Lindbergh did a big article outlining SS the cards could go for. He thought Aybar, Asdrubal Cabrera, Gregorious, Owings and Alexis Ramirez made a lot of sense.

The Cards have pitching they can trade to get younger, cheaper and better SSs than Rollins. He'll, they can probably easily get Andrus if they want him. He'd be a huge upgrade over Pete Kozma.

Man, if the Cards would give us Lance Lynn for Rollins, that would be sweet. I can't see it though.

Maybe the Cards want some proven veteran leadership at SS though. Rollins was an MVP once you know.

Knowing how lucky those fucks are, if we traded them J-Roll he'd probably win the MVP again.

And Lance Lynn would end up being a LOOGY even though he's right handed.

Rox would never give up Tulo for anything less than the moon. He's 29 and has a career wRC+ of 121 as a SS in a world of mediocre offensive SS's.

Is Roman "war helmet" Quinn still a prospect? Could we trade Galvis to stl for a (better?) pitcher and just roll with declining jroll until the war helmet is ready?

He'll probably miss all of next season. So at least 4 season until he's ready if at all.
