And my recollection is that it lasted much longer than the flush years of 2007-11. Charlie kept Chooch low in the order even with Chase and Ryan out of the lineup early last season.

yeah about a 5th of his 2012 PAs were from the 7th spot, but hardly any from the 8th.

All of his appearances in the 8-spot were coming off the bench.

Have tickets tonight, 6/3, and 6/19. Kendrick is scheduled to pitch all 3 games. FML.

Maybe he can teach the Phillies some offense.

Even if he doesn't have the guts to move him to cleanup, Charlie is an idiot if he doesn't find some way to bat Dom in a position where there's at least a chance someone will get on in front of him. Batting behind Delmon and Howard at this point is a waste.

Charlie is a pretty big dude.

Also Chip Kelly was a DC at Johns Hopkins I just learned. After what-his face from that Florida basketball school and now this, my alma mater is quickly becoming a jock school.

You know, you would think that when your offense is struggling this much, you might want to tinker with the lineup from time to time. Enough is enough. Howard his his first HR in weeks and still looked awful at the plate. This respect factor is bullshit. He's not the same player.

Good point. Swap him and Jimmy maybe, or Jimmy 5th

Based on recent results what Charlie should do is flip Howard and Delmon with Dom and Kratz. Kratz is having a really good month (.965 OPS, including 7 walks) and is having really good AB's. Right now he's a much better choice for the 5 hole than Delmon.

The top of the lineup is for established veteran hitters like Ben Revere.
