no because if he plays well people might soon realize Amaro jackassed the Howard extension

I almost believe that could be his line of thinking

Gotta be Ruf coming up right?

Does it matter? There's a 100% chance that they will use some kind of Galvis/Frandsen platoon at 3B and move Michael Young to 1B. Barf.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

No one's going to notice that Howard's not in the lineup anyway.

this should be the first post in every GDT, especially seeing as it's coming from trent. let's please keep making dick jokes even when we're watching our team get shutout tonight. keep the shitty pithy comments to a minimum, the baseball team is bad enough

Unfortunately, you need to reach a point of emotional detachment and general disinvestment to get to this point. Hard to do while watching the unbearable-to-watch games.

i know, but i'm saying the games are already unbearably bad to watch when it's like last night but i had to check out of the GDT because the overall reaction is post after post of doom and gloom instead of jokes/tits/whatever. BSG should be more resilient

Who could have predicted the Delmon Young signing wouldn't work out?

I didn't think it was necessary but thought it a decent lottery ticket type move. But he's getting way too long a leash for someone with very limited recent success

Former top overall pick, age-27 season, has to be aware he's running out of chances. I agree it was worth a try. But if he isn't hitting, he's useless. And he's not hitting. Time to cut bait and see what Ruf can do.

I'd also recall Stutes and Robles (from AA) today, cut Durbin and demote Horst.

Sadly they don't have too many other moves they can make.

Maybe Young will pull a hamstring chasing down an errant Utley throw.

Let's not forget the leadership he brings to the clubhouse.

You know Charlie loves Ruf from what he did last year. If he's up Charlie will play him. I think they might wait for him to get out of his slump before they call him up though.

Yea....not sure I'd have gambled on Delmon though, but no big loss.

The thing that's been bothering me the past few days, and I usually bring this up once a season, is how bad our Latin American program has been. All of these years when we were giving up first round picks or drafting in the bottom of the first round, we should have been going hard in the international market. We all know that wasn't the case. Our minor league system might be in average shape right now if we had any success in Latin America.

At this point, I'd settle for a Mayberry/Nix platoon. But I think they're giving Young every last chance, and will drop him soon. That's the only thing that make sense
