Brown, Galvis, Biddle and Joseph is a lot of near-ready talent. I'd make that deal for Stanton; though then again I'd probably give the ten best guys in our system for Stanton.

Upton? I'd hold out for what azrider says they're offering now. I wonder if they would take Galvis and Valle for Kubel and some cash or a fringe arm.

Getting Upton would be a nice little moral boost for us Phils fans

BleacherReport (Dec 31, 2012): 5 Reasons Justin Upton Will Be Dealt Before the Trade Deadline

Summary:

1) Because Upton hasn't developed as planned (All-Star/superstar), his extremely backloaded contract is "ludicrous" and AZ can't afford to keep him.

2) Inconsistant... tends to go through prolonged stretches of futility.

3) His window is closing... Upton is close to the point where potential turns into overrated.

4) He still has value... because he still has the potential to hit .300 with 25 HR, AZ can get a decent haul for him.

5) AZ needs "hope" to fill seats.... "Upton appears to have peaked. His stock isn't rising anymore, although his salary is.", dealing him for a bunch of promising studs because they need a better overall product on the field to keep fans interested.

That's because hitters start their offseason hitting-off-a-tee regimen in January.
