What assets do the Phillies have left that they could part with in a trade? Brown, Valle/Joseph, Schwimer....?

Feel like they may need to resurrect the Meet The Phillies thing on CSN...

I think I have to stay away from this board for awhile. Between the Andy Reid debate and ANYTHING the Phills do its nothing but negative. Don't know what happened here, starting to not be a place for good opinions anymore and just constant bitching.

/I'm out.

P.S. god help this place if we sign Ross

I just want to mention again that our entire OF corps, both starters and reserves, is currently scheduled to make a grand total of $3.35MM in 2013, with Laynce Nix our highest-paid OF at $1.35MM.

this looks like an 85 win team on paper. getting a full season from a declining ryan howard is better than a half season from him. no one can realistically predict what you will get from utley. halladay is coming off an injury and one of the worst seasons of his career. the bullpen should be better, but im not sure it will matter if we are scoring 2-3 runs every game.

at least we will have 33 cole hamels starts to look forward to in 2013.

Please let it be a trade. Ross sucks, Swisher isn't worth losing the pick. But they don't have the depth to trade for anyone good.

Im coming to the conclusion that there's no easy fix or one move here. The problem with Amaro might be that he's always looking for that one move. I'm okay with most of what he's done this winter, but I also don't believe the team is dramatically better. Again, largely because that's probably not possible.

don't blame amaro, nobody wants to come here anymore like they did 2-3 years ago and thats the truth. there's always been the yanks and sox, and the phils emerged as a sexy empire, but now teams like the angels and dodgers and tigers and whatnot can spend just as much and look more attractive.

id call the brewers and ask about carlos gomez and corey hart. they are two completely different players, but both are free agents after 2013 and i have no idea what the brewers plans are in terms of 2013 and beyond.

gomez had a breakout 2012 at age 26, hit 19 HR (after hitting 23 combined from 2008-2011) and posted an OB% above .300 for the first time in his career. he also stole 37 bases in just 415 AB. He'll probably make like $2.5-3M this year, then hes a FA. if you got him, you could play him in CF, Revere in LF (because of his arm) and then use Brown/Ruf in RF. gomez has had a positive UZR in CF every season.

hart makes $10m in 2013 and then is a free agent. he looks like a caveman. i dont think hes a very good defensive right fielder, and he played mostly 1b last year. but his 3 year average from 2010-2012 is .279/.343/.514, with 29 HR, 31 2B and 82 RBI. and hes righthanded.
