yeah, but if they get Victorino or Pagan, they'd have a bunch of options to mix and match based on the scenario

I mean I hope they get Hambone

swisher makes a lot of sense. I could see them liking him.

Eh, the current OF is Ruf/Nix-Mayberry-Brown. Schierholtz is a very useful player. They're letting a good player go for nothing on a team whose best OF is now Domonic Brown.

I think Shierholtz's big problem with wanting to get out of SF was not getting enough playing time. I imagine what this move means is that he's not in their long-term plans to be an everyday player (cause we're signing hambone and reanimating mickey mantle) and want to let him catch on with a team with which he'll get a chance to play urrday

Swisher would fill the "productive player that I think is an awful person" void that's been there since Werth left.

Where's Napalm? I need him to give the board a "sissy'd." The market is lining up well for Rube.

This move stinks. Shierholtz is better than Nix. Release or trade Nix, eat money. Is $2m gonna break us?
This is why 2 year deals to generic roll players like Nix are always a bad idea.
Hope Joseph is our catcher next year because the Pence deal just got a lot worse.

they're both not great, and im glad we won't have to end up paying 4 million or so for the two players, and i'd rather have Shierholtz too

They both blow. What's the difference.

Haha remember when we gave Nix a two-year ML deal even though he had a minor league deal the year before and literally no one wanted him
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Phillies have offered four years to Pagan, as have the Giants

We offered 5/55 to Upton per RealKen

Pagan, 31, enjoyed a terrific all-around season for the Giants, and was particularly effective after moving to the leadoff spot in early August. The Phillies need a leadoff man, and Pagan offers additional appeal as a switch-hitter.
