I know I picked an outlier, but that kind of thing happens all the time with relief pitchers. Joe Nathan and Jonathan Papelbon had great years, too, but they signed early and probably got more money than is necessary. I'm just saying, the bullpen is low on the list of priorities because there isn't a Papelbonesque stud on the market and when you're going after setup guys and middle relievers, it's more important to have depth than to be top-heavy. I'd rather focus on 3b and OF and try to get lucky on a late-offseason gamble.
