Truth. Plus Frank Fitzpatrick's been writing forever, so he's undoubtedly in a pretty decent pay bracket.
It's even worse for the new guys. They know what they're getting into, and they still whine about it. As a journalism student who wants to write about sports, being a beat writer for a major team is probably the 2nd-highest tier you can shoot for, with the highest being a national writer (Rosenthal) or a columnist. Some of them also pretty clearly would rather be on TV, and think being the beat writer is the springboard to the next level. In most cases, it is not.

This is truth. I kind of want to know how much Hale was making. I don't blame him for moving to ESPN. I assume he was making about 32-35K. Then again, you're paid to write about baseball. It's why I want to get into the business. If I spent one day in the press box writing about baseball I'd probably never stop smiling.

Without Pence and Victorino, the Phillies collective personality is now somewhere between Travis Lee and a rock.

Phils conducting fire sale -- first time this year words "fire" and "Phils" have been used in same sentence.

Sure, get rid of Victorino, the one guy on this lifeless Phillies team who has some energy and spunk. Maybe they can re-acquire Travis Lee.

Yes because that is very important. Important to keep some fuckface newspaper reporter happy.

What do Phillies and Northern India have in common? Both are without power and on verge of disaster.

What a miserable fuck. Yeah let's build a team around your desire to have fun people to interview.
