The FA market at 3B looks pretty bare, so it's going to have to be a trade. What about Aramis Ramirez? The Brewers want to move him. He's 5th among all MLB 3B this year in OPS, his fielding has improved significantly this year and his contract isn't too bad. It's 2 more years. He'll make $10MM next year, which he'll probably be worth easily, and $16MM in 2014. The $16MM isn't great but at least it's in 2014 when they have more wiggle room.

The Brewers need pitching. Greinke and Marcum will be gone and they're desperately trying to get rid of Wolf. What if we gave them, say, Pettibone plus another, lesser prospect to take Ramirez off their hands?

It's not Headley or Olt, but I sure don't want to see Galvis and Wigginton as our 3B next year.

What is the aav on ramirez's contract. It doesn't really matter what he makes next year or in 14, we can afford it, just assuming we want to get back under the LT for 14, assuming we go over next year.
