IIRC, if they get back again next year, it'll be the 3rd longest streak in ML history behind the Yankees and Braves runs of the late 90s and 2000s

I love that I (and everyone else who saw it probably) didn't need to click that link to know what game it was

absolutely

#$& 80 bucks a pop. It's possible if we go 3-0 and the barves 0-1 that we clinch Friday, but worse case scenario (for me) would be a magic number of 1 saturday morning, with tickets going through the roof. So I jumped on the cheapest (other than SRO) that I could find. BUT we'll be in 326 row one FOUL BALL POTENTIAL :!:

and YES milt I bought them through your link

it is indeed a big deal. In fact, I had sort of established for myself that any and every accomplishment here out for the Phillies organization will, for me, be the proverbial icing on the cake.

I really like icing but I will always admire the cake

Dunno about JFLNYC, Smitty and other old fans, but the success of a baseball club that I more or less randomly decided in 1968 would be my favorite of all gives me a reliable and recurrent pleasurable jolt of totally undeserved, unearned self-satisfaction (the best kind, in my opinion).
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

I'm psyched to celebrate it. Still remember the last Sunday of 2007 like it was yesterday, the pit in my stomach that morning and the joy of the freaking Marlins wild'ing out.

We're about 3 days away from winning as many divisions in a 48 month span as the Mets have in their whole existence

I wouldn't put anything on until the Phillies game started. Refused to scoreboard watch until I absolutely had to. Watched the game on the couch telling myself something like, "This isn't happening, they'll blow it, etc." as a way of trying to contain myself. Remember when it got to the ninth and I let mytself accept it. Started jumping up and down wildly, screaming, "Nothing can stop it now!!!!"

Gave myself chills now remembering it all, also made myself realize what a sick bleeping baseball pup 1994-2006 had made me before the 2007 Phillies re-baptized me. It's amazing how much of a difference that getting to see that a run like this can actually happen makes. I am much more philosophical about the losses now.

It's still disappointing that Person just missed that grand slam.

I actually didn't see that game but I've heard about it enough times that I knew exactly what it was.
they were a chick hanging out with her friends at a bar, the Phillies would be the 320 lb chick with a nose wart and a dick - Trent Steele

What he missed was a second grand slam. He hit the three run bomb.
