Jon Heyman wrote it so I don't know why you're so surprised.

I was hoping the Phillies had a shot at the record for fewest runs allowed in a 162 game season, but that record is held by the St. Louis Cardinals of 1968, who allowed 472 (!!!!!!!) runs in a 162 game season. Phillies have currently allowed 461 runs in 142 games.

If this team can manage a double digit explosion or three over the next week (and, I mean, we're facing JA Happ soon) there's a not insignificant chance that we could surpass the Cards, Reds and Rockies in runs per game before the season is over.

gotta have something to play for, right? so...
need 15 of last 20, or 3 of every 4, to pass the 1986 mets and have the most wins for an nl team since the 1906 cubs.
since i started keeping track with 49 games left to go (needing 5 of every 7 from that point on), they've only fallen 1 game off the pace, which is pretty darn good since the necessary winning percentage was that of the 2001 mariners.
BRING HOME THE GOAT!

So I need 4 ducats for Saturday 9/17 for me & the kid & the nephew & my bro. Should I grab what I can on stubhub now, or wait it out and hope that they clinch before then? Does everyone think prices will drop as we play out the string?? Worse case scenario is I wait, and 9/17 comes with a magic number of 1....
